Hi, I'm Michele!
I'm a family, wedding, and portrait photographer based in Tok, Alaska.
I grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio and although I spent my childhood in the city, I had always loved nature. Family vacations were spent exploring the great outdoors. We hiked, visited national parks, and swam in the ocean. It was no surprise when I decided to get a degree in wildlife biology. During a decade in that career I was lucky enough to travel across the country and see so many beautiful places.
When I became pregnant with my first child I sadly had to leave the field (pregnancy and venomous snakes don’t mix!). I became serious about learning photography after my first child was born. It was important to me not just to capture what he looked like, but his curiosity, his joy, and all the little moments that happen for the first time only once. I love creating images that capture emotion and tell a story.
In 2016 my husband, two kids, and I made the move to Alaska from the lower 48 and I decided to turn my hobby into a career. It was important to me to meld my love of nature with storytelling.
Just like every other Alaskan, my family and I enjoy spending time outdoors. It’s where we explore, laugh, and make memories. I am constantly awed by Alaska’s beauty. The gorgeous landscapes have inspired me to infuse my photos with nature, playfulness, and a sense of wonder.
